FAQs

When creating your ad, you will see an ‘Enable SafeDeal’ toggle to activate/deactivate SafeDeal for your listing. It is enabled by default for your convenience. With SafeDeal enabled, you will have a SafeDeal badge on your listing and buyers will be able to pay for your item on Gumtree and have it delivered to a pick-up point of their choice. We only charge an 8% SafeDeal fee on successful sales

We can’t accommodate parcels heavier than 20kg or larger than the Extra Large dimensions (100cm x 50cm x 20cm) at this time. Make sure your measurements are correct or you may incur charges later if the package is bigger than you’ve specified.

Yes! When the buyer places their order to purchase your item, you will be prompted to accept the order. 

When you have indicated that you are able to fulfil the order, the next step will be to select your preferred drop off point from the 4000+ locations that Pargo offers.

When the buyer collects their package from their chosen Pargo pick-up point, they have 24 hours to raise a dispute. During this period you will see the amount payable to you in your wallet as a Pending Balance.

If the buyer approves the item received, the purchase price minus the SafeDeal fee will be credited to your Gumtree wallet as an 'Available balance' after the 24-hour window period. You will be able to use the funds to purchase on Gumtree or withdraw it to your bank account where it will reflect within 3-5 business days, depending on your bank.

If the buyer receives their item and it does not match what was listed or is damaged, they can log a dispute within 24 hours of picking up their package from their chosen Pargo pick-up point. When the buyer raises a dispute, it is submitted to our Customer Support team, who will review and communicate with both you and the buyer. During the time that the dispute is being reviewed, the money payable to you will remain in the Gumtree escrow/holding account.

Should the dispute be resolved in your favour, you will be notified and the money will be released to your Gumtree wallet where it will reflect as an ‘Available Balance’. You will be able to use the funds to purchase on Gumtree or withdraw it to your bank account where it will reflect within 3-5 business days, depending on your bank. 

Should the dispute be resolved in the buyer’s favour, the return process will be initiated. See the return process here. The funds will only be refunded to the buyer when the seller has picked up the package from their preferred Pargo pick-up point.
