FAQs

As a buyer, you will be redirected to the TradeSafe payment portal, where you can make payment using your preferred payment method (Snapscan, Ozow, Gumtree Wallet, Debit card and credit card). If your payment method is valid and you entered the right information, your payment will go through and a message confirming receipt of your order will be displayed.

If your payment fails to go through, an unsuccessful payment message will be displayed on the same screen where you can choose to try again. Should you choose to try again, you will be redirected back to the Gumtree Summary screen where you can choose to ‘Continue with payment’ to start the payment process again. If the problem persists, please get in touch with our friendly Customer Support team.

On the Gumtree app, you can click on 'Account’ on the bottom navigation bar. Click on the ‘Purchases’ tab. A list of all your purchases will be displayed.

If the seller cannot fulfil your order and it gets cancelled, our customer support team will instruct our partners to start the refund process.

The payment will be reversed, and your money will be refunded to the original source of funds when the seller has received the returned package. In some cases the funds wil be returned to your Gumtree Wallet, if this happens, you will be able to use the funds to purchase another item on Gumtree or withdraw it to your bank account, which will take 3-5 working days to reflect in your account, depending on your bank.

If you have selected shipping: You can raise a dispute within 24 hours after you have picked up your item from the Pargo pick-up point. Navigate to your Gumtree app and select You -> Purchases -> The purchase you would like to raise a dispute on. Once you have submitted your dispute, our customer support team will review and work on assisting you to resolve the dispute in terms of Gumtree's Dispute Resolution Policy.

If you have selected collection: You should not share the Collection PIN with the seller unless the item meets your expectations. Once you share the collection PIN with the seller, the transaction is completed, you can take ownership your purchased item and you are no longer able to request a refund.
