Pay & Ship protects both buyers and sellers, as Gumtree receives the buyer payment and holds it until the transaction is completed.

Once the buyer has collected their package from their chosen Pargo pick-up point, the buyer needs to check the item. If it is not as listed or is damaged, they can need to log a dispute against that purchase in the Gumtree App within 24 hours.

If you're buying something you can choose how you want it delivered and pay for it securely. This payment goes to Gumtree's account, where it's kept safe until you get your item.
After you receive your package, you have 24 hours to say if there's a problem.
If everything's okay or you don't report a problem within 24 hours, the money is moved to the seller's Gumtree Wallet.
The seller can then use this money on Gumtree or transfer it to their bank account.

When checking out, the buyer selects a Pargo point where they would like their package to be delivered to. When the seller confirms that they can fulfil the order, they select a Pargo point where they can drop off the package.
Pargo collects the package from the seller’s drop-off point and delivers it to the buyer’s pick-up point. Both the buyer and seller receive communication from Pargo and Gumtree as the package progresses. Once the package is delivered to the buyer’s pick-up point, the buyer picks up the package, and confirmation of package pick-up is sent to both the buyer and seller.
You can raise a dispute within 24 hours after you have picked up your item from the Pargo Point. Navigate to your Gumtree app and select You -> Purchases -> The purchase you would like to raise a dispute on. Once you have submitted your dispute, our customer support team will review and work on assisting you to resolve the dispute in terms of Gumtree's Dispute Resolution Policy.
